Currently we have several LumiBee prototypes working and testing materials.
We are still looking for partners for this project. Having a phone manufacturer as a partner can be very interesting too!
The project was initially supposed to be supported by a crowdfunding campaign; however, after some disappointments regarding other phone-based 3D printer projects in the last years, we don’t think people have any more trust on this kind of technology. We had spent quite a few time on this project, and we think that beside some limitations, it may still be an interesting technology this is why we decided to make the whole project open source, with all the files available to the public for free.
